Description:
The Metropolis New City Development is a dense, mixed-use community in Shanghai, China.
Due to parking requirements, the majority of the open space sits on top of a lower-level parking deck. POD Design organized the spaces around a central corridor incorporating the clubhouse and pool area, a passive park, and an active park.
Several themed gardens are evenly distributed throughout the site with activity areas for seniors and children’s playgrounds.
A lot of consideration was given to maintain a safe and attractive circulation route for emergency vehicles.
